I have no doubt criminal defense is a calling. But is it my calling?
I spent several months considering switching to criminal law before I did it. I watched criminal trials, met criminal defense lawyers, and read a book-shelf of books about criminal law. Then I took the plunge and applied to be a public defender for indigent prisoners.
I’ve been here several months, and so far, it still feels right for me. We’ll see.
