- Encourage a fair pay scale for new drivers and experienced drivers, to improve driver retention.
- Serve as an educational and consulting resource for trucking companies on legal and profitable business practices.
- Connect truckers with our CPA with trucking industry experience, for advice and guidance.
- Host and participate in educational events and industry meetings.
- Serve as the voice of trucking companies and their drivers with legislative bodies to address trucking industry laws and regulations (e.g. ELD mandate, rest area needs, driver warning events, speed zone issues).
- Share received complaints with trucking companies to increase their awareness and improve their image.
- Share complaints against drivers who display improper trucking practices (e.g. abandoning truck or freight) and encourage trucking companies to take action.
- Negotiate discounts with insurance companies to improve rates.
- Council and provide legal resources for immigration issues and other day to day member needs.
- Create IDTA relationships within the banking industry to raise awareness of the financial needs of small businesses.
- Analyze market trends and provide feedback to assist members with better understanding of lease agreements and their equipment buying/selling needs.
- Leverage relationships with local equipment dealers for IDTA member pricing.
- Improve the relationship between truckers and truck service centers.
